Hamilton County, TN - Earlier this morning at approximately 8:50 am, a Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office transport van assigned to Judicial Security Services was rear-ended on Interstate 24 near the 18140 block while transporting two inmates to court from the Hamilton County Jail and Detention Center.

The two deputies involved in the crash did not sustain any injuries and the van received very minor damage.

As a precaution, the two inmates inside the van were transported to a local medical facility for review. The Tennessee Highway Patrol (THP) is investigating the cause of the crash.
