Two Inmates Escape from Hamilton County Jail

UPDATED INFORMATION - One Hamilton County Jail Escapee Has Been Captured

Hamilton County, TN – As previously noted below, two inmates escaped earlier this morning at approximately 1:40 am from the Hamilton County Jail.

A short while ago, Dylon Lafollette was captured by Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office Detectives and Fugitive personnel near the 100 block of North Market Street.

He has been returned to the Hamilton County Jail where he will be charged with escape.

HCSO personnel are still searching for Dustin Lee Adams. It is believed he may have been injured in the escape and might seek medical attention.

Anyone with any information regarding Adams’ whereabouts should contact the HCSO Fugitive Division at 423-622-0022. A printable WANTED Poster has been attached.

The HCSO will continue to update the community as new information becomes available and/or when Adams is captured.

In recognition of the Labor Day Weekend, the primary administrative and civilian offices of the HCSO are closed today.

Jail, Fugitive, Patrol and other critical law enforcement personnel are working normal hours.

Hamilton County, TN – At approximately 1:40 am, two inmates managed to escape from the Hamilton County Jail by breaking a window and removing the screws holding the security screen.

Upon noticing the incident, jail personnel immediately notified HCSO deputies and the Chattanooga Police Department.

The two inmates were being held on the second floor which is typically used to house minimum security (low-risk) inmates. At this time, there is no belief that either inmate poses an immediate danger to the general public.

The two inmates who escaped were Dustin Lee Adams and Dylon Lafollette.

Inmate Dustin Lee Adams (DOB – 12-1-90) was being housed for the following crimes:

Possession of a firearm

Burglary

Theft of property

Theft of property

Theft of property (over $10,000)

Theft of property (Auto)

Adams is described as a white male, 5 feet 7 inches tall and weighs approximately 100 pounds. He holds from Polk and Bradley counties respectively and was considered homeless with no permanent physical address.

Inmate Dylon Lafollette (DOB – 6-26-97) was being housed for the following crimes:

Theft of property (over $10,000)

Criminal Conspiracy

Lafollette is described as a white male, 5 feet 11 inches and weighs approximately 185 pounds. His last known address was 1733 Walnut Hill Lane in Sevier County, Tennessee.

HCSO Deputies and CPD Officers have been notified of the escape and are actively looking for both escapees.

Anyone with any information as to the whereabouts of these two individuals should contact 911 immediately.

Once again, neither of these two escapees are considered to be violent offenders and the HCSO wishes to reassure the public that every effort is being made to find and return these two inmates to custody in the Hamilton County Jail.

The HCSO Criminal Investigation Division has been notified and detectives are actively investigating the escape and aiding in the search for both inmates.

This is the first successful escape from the Hamilton County Jail in more than 15 years.

No further information is available at this time and the HCSO PIO is not available to come to the scene for questions. No formal comments will be made on scene.

Updated information will be released remotely as more information becomes available. The community will be notified once both inmates are located and are back in custody.
