82 Year Old Man Severely Injured After Being Ran Over By His Own Car While Attempting to Watch Wild Turkeys

Hamilton County, TN - Earlier this evening, at approximately 5:30 pm, HCSO Deputies were called to 9075 Brittany Farm Lane for the report of a man being run-over by his own car. Upon arrival, HCSO Deputies found (82 year old) Earl Williams severely injured after his car rolled completely over him.

According to their statements, Mr. and Mrs. Williams were returning home when they started to drive up their long driveway which runs uphill and crests at the top.

As they neared the top, Mr. Williams noticed some wild turkeys near a barn and decided to stop the vehicle and get out to get a better view. Upon exiting the vehicle, Mr. Williams forgot to put the 4 Door Jeep Wrangler in park.

As he exited the jeep, the vehicle began to move knocking him to the ground. Williams’ was then pulled under the vehicle as it proceeded to roll completely over him and down the hill with his wife in the passenger seat. His wife was unable to stop the car.

As the vehicle approached the bottom of the driveway where the ground leveled off, the jeep came to a stop on its own leaving his wife unharmed.

Due to the injuries he sustained, LifeForce helicopter was called to his residence and he was flown to an area hospital.

The extent of his injuries are not known at this time, but it is presumed he is in critical condition.

This incident is being ruled accidental.

No further information or comments are available at this time.
