Driver Runs Car into Building on Highway 58

02/28/2016

Hamilton County, TN –-At approximately 11:30 pm last night, February 27th, HCSO deputies pulled over a car near the Mapco on Highway 58 for an improperly displayed registration. The female driver, Iesha Jones, was found to be driving on a revoked license. Jones also had two children (ages 4 and 9) in the car with her along with her boyfriend, Dominic Gallespie. Gallespie exhibited signs of being intoxicated as well.

Once it was found that Jones had warrants for her arrest for assault and theft, the deputy attempted to bring her into custody. At which time, she placed the car in drive and drove off. She proceeded down a residential road, through a yard, through a fence, and crashed into the "German Autohaus" garage located next to Carters Shooting Supply.

Before deputies could get her into custody, she took off on foot and a foot pursuit ensued. She then threw a rock through the window on the front door of the building and let herself in eventually coming to hide beneath a desk. At that point, deputies located Jones and found her to be non-compliant. Jones was tased and placed into custody.

HCEMS responded to the scene to check on Jones and the other occupants of the vehicle. Child protective services were notified. The grandmother of the children responded to the scene to take them and the boyfriend to another location.

Jones was taken to an area hospital for medical review.

The charges against Jones have not all been officially listed, but will include felony evading, reckless endangerment, among others.
