The Hamilton County Sheriff's Office was called to a motor vehicle theft in progress yesterday evening at 1008 Stone Crest Circle in East Brainerd. The vehicle, described as a 2010 Chrysler 300 was seen northbound in the 1000 block of interstate 75 occupied by two white males. The driver was operating the vehicle at an extremely high rate of speed, weaving in and out of traffic and nearly forcing other vehicles off the road. Deputies caught up with the vehicle just off exit 11 in time to see two white males running from the vehicle into a nearby wooded area. A ground search of the area was conducted but no one was located.

Several hours later a call was received concerning a suspicious male at a nearby business who appeared to be wet and covered in mud. This party was found and detained by deputies at the Collegedale Wal Mart. This party was determined to be one of the two white males involved in the vehicle theft. He was identified as Sean Harvey w/m and charged with one count of Theft over $10,000, one count of Felony Evading, one count of Misdemeanor Evading and Reckless Endangerment.

The investigation is on-going to determine the identity of the other party involved.
