The Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office and other emergency responders were called to 930 Lee Pike today approximately 11:50 a.m. regarding a person down. On arrival it was found that a 68 year old male was cutting a tree on property belonging to a family member. Preliminary information found that while the victim was cutting the tree, it shifted and started falling to the ground. The victim was unable to get out of the danger zone and the tree struck him causing massive injuries. The victim succumbed to the injuries he sustained.

The HCSO was assisted on scene by Soddy Daisy Volunteer Fire Department, Sale Creek Volunteer Fire Department and Hamilton County Emergency Medical Services. The HCSO Criminal Investigation Division was also called to the scene. The victims name will not be released pending notification of family members.
