Hamilton County Jail staff discovered water damage in both the Corrections Training Room and the Commissary area of the Hamilton County Jail building this morning around 6:30 a.m. Staff was advised some construction work being done in the immediate area surrounding the jail resulted in a underground water leak. At some point today after consultation between Tennessee American Water Company and other utility companies, the water may have to be cut off at the jail for repair work to be done.

At this time the problem has not impacted the jail population and additional updates regarding this issue will be released to the media as it becomes available.
