Methamphetamine arrest made on Moses Road

07/12/2012

Earlier today at approximately 12:16 p.m. Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office Deputy Jeremy Wright observed a 1996 blue Chevrolet truck run a stop sign located at Gates and Moses Road. When Deputy Wright activated his emergency equipment the truck pulled into a driveway in the 7500 block of Moses road. Before the truck stopped moving, the passenger jumped from the vehicle and ran into a wooded area. The driver attempted to escape but was taken into custody by Deputy Wright. A search of the area was conducted but the passenger was not located.

As this arrest was being completed, deputies smelled a strong odor emitting from the bed of the truck and observed components used in the manufacture of Methamphetamine. Other harmful and flammable components were also located, as well as a “shake & bake” bottle that was actively cooking.

The driver identified as Jonathan Palmer w/m age 31 was charged with Manufacturing Methamphetamine, Felony Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, and three counts of Reckless Endangerment.

Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office Narcotics Division was notified and the Tennessee Methamphetamine Task Force were also called to handle the clean up and dispose of the chemicals.
