While attending the City of Lakesite monthly meeting last night I was asked a question. What reminders could I give to residents to be careful and more aware of what is occurring in their neighborhoods!

I realized it would be the same reminders I give myself. We all become complacent and think that no one would dare break into our vehicles or home but sadly the only ones we are fooling are ourselves. Don’t leave valuable property or electronic equipment in plain view inside your parked vehicles. We feel safe when we pull into our driveways but thugs and thieves are cruising, looking for the quick and easy property to steal. No parts of Hamilton County or neighborhoods are immune to being easy pickings for thieves.

So make it hard for the ones who would enter your property and steal what you have worked hard to attain. Become involved in your neighborhoods by being active with your Neighborhood Watch program. If there is not an active Watch and residents are interested, contact the Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office for more information.
