DRINKING AND DRIVING DURING THE HOLIDAYS
Date: 12/28/2010
Janice Atkinson
Public Information Officer
Hamilton County Sheriff's Office

The holiday season is one of the deadliest times of the year for alcohol-related crashes. Because of increased consumption of alcohol and an increase in the number of special events and parties, drinking and driving is more prevalent. Drinking and driving crashes are one of the most easily preventable catastrophes’ because it is a choice each driver makes.

The Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office will step up patrol during this time but if you plan to attend parties and consume alcohol; have a designated driver, grab a cab or plan to stay overnight. Friends don’t let friends drive drunk.

Sheriff Jim Hammond wants everyone to have a safe and festive holiday. Don’t allow a poor choice to ruin the holidays for you.
