Two charged with robbery at the Kangaroo on 1324 Dayton Pk
This morning at approximately 4:46 a.m. the Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office was called to the Kangaroo Station located at 13424 Dayton Pike on a robbery. When deputies arrived on the scene they were advised that a masked robber entered the store, displayed a weapon then demanded money and cigarettes from the clerk.
The male suspect’s description along with the suspect vehicle description was broadcast to all available units in the area. Deputies stopped the suspect’s vehicle in the 7000 block of Dayton Blvd. which was occupied by two people. Evidence inside the vehicle as well as the male passenger matched witness statements.
The driver of the vehicle, Heather E. Harwell, age 32 and Ronald P. Horner, age 38 were both arrested and charged with Aggravated Robbery and Criminal Conspiracy to Commit Robbery. Horner was also charged with Unlawful Possession of a Weapon.
The Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office is working with Soddy Daisy Police Department and Chattanooga Police Department regarding similar robberies that have occurred in their jurisdictions.
