The Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office Investigative Services spent the day on Saturday, November 6, 2010 attempting to verify addresses of convicted sex offenders living in Hamilton County. Detectives checked two hundred sixty three addresses (263). While one hundred eighty six (186) were verified to be correct , fifty two (52) addresses did not verify and fourteen (14) sex offenders were found to have moved or they provided a false address. Detectives will follow-up on these violations and warrants will be obtained for Violation of the Sex Offender Registry.

According to the Sex Offender instructions, offenders are to register within forty eight (48) hours after release from probation/parole or from a local, state or federal jail or a private penal institution. Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office is the registering/reporting law enforcement agency for offenders living in Hamilton County.
