On August 24, 2010, Sheriff Jim Hammond honored Brian Smith with a Challenge Coin at the Command Staff Meeting. Brian took it upon himself to initiate a Neighborhood Watch program in his neighborhood and was instrumental in the organization of the program and monthly meetings.

Brian is active in the Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office Explorer program for youth.
