The Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office is pleased to announce the creation and implementation of a new specialized unit called Safe Journey. Safe Journey is being established through a grant from the Governor’s Highway Safety Office and will be a component of the Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office Traffic Division. The specialized unit will train traffic personnel and parents on the proper installation of safety seats and conduct safety checks. Safe Journey will consist of three trained individuals who will concentrate and address all concerns regarding child protection seats in motor vehicles. Periodic child safety checkpoints will be set up and publicized to educate and assist the public on all aspects of child passenger safety seats.

The Governor’s Highway Safety Office and the Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office are committed to saving lives. With the creation of Safe Journey we will be one step closer to meeting the commitment.
