HCSO Personnel Pack Boxes for Forgotten Child Fund

Sheriff Austin Garrett and County Mayor Weston Wamp, Executive Staff, Pack Toy Boxes for Chattanooga Forgotten Child Fund

Hamilton County, TN - Earlier this morning, Sheriff Austin Garrett and members of his executive staff, along with Hamilton County Mayor Weston Wamp and his staff, partnered with the Chattanooga Forgotten Child Fund to pack boxes of Christmas presents for children in need throughout Hamilton County and our surrounding areas.

Each year, the Forgotten Child Fund, both founded and managed by local public safety personnel, provides Christmas presents for more than 15,000 children. In addition to presents, they also provide much needed jackets, gloves, and hats to children in need through the Coats for Kids initiative to ensure they stay warm during the winter months.

“As a board member for the Forgotten Child Fund for many years, this organization and its mission is very important to me and the many other public safety personnel and volunteers who work together to ensure that no child is forgotten on Christmas morning. My staff and I believe in servant-leadership and helping pack boxes of presents for these children is just one of the many ways we as a Sheriff’s Office and a community can serve others,” stated Sheriff Austin Garrett.

On Thursday, November 30th from 6:00 am – 7:00 pm, the Forgotten Child Fund and the HCSO will be partnering with News Channel 9 at Hamilton Place Mall for our annual Coats for Kids Drive. During this time, the community is encouraged to drop off new coats, scarves, gloves, hats or monetary donations.
