A school lock down was initiated earlier this morning at approximately 10:30 a.m. at Orchard Knob Middle School. The Assistant Principal received information of a possible weapon on school property and then immediately contacted Deputy Breeland Kilgore, School Resource Officer assigned to the school.

Deputy Kilgore initiated an investigation into the allegation and found a black, loaded B B gun in a backpack belonging to a thirteen year old student. As the investigation progressed additional information was gathered that another weapon was supposedly on school property. The decision was made at that time to initiate a lock down of the school. A search was made of the school and no other weapon was found but a resale amount of suspected marijuana was found on four students.

The end result of this incident was one thirteen year old student charged with Carrying a Weapon on School Property and four students ages twelve, thirteen and fourteen years old were charged with Possession of Marijuana for Resale. All students involved were in the 8th grade.
