HCSO Personnel Recognized by the City of Soddy Daisy for Lifesaving Actions

Hamilton County, TN – Earlier this morning, Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office Deputies’ Mitchell Rice and Ricardo Santiago, along with personnel from Hamilton County 911, Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency, Hamilton County EMS, and Dallas Bay Department were recognized by the City of Soddy Daisy for their efforts to help save the life of one of their Police Officers experiencing a major medical emergency.

On Saturday, May 27, 2023, Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office deputies, along with first responders from the aforementioned agencies, responded to the 1933 block of Bay Hill Drive for the report of a CPR in progress involving Soddy Daisy Police Department K-9 Officer Faith Dabbs.

Upon arrival on scene, Deputy Ricardo Santiago, along with TWRA Officer David Holt, performed CPR until medical personnel arrived on scene while Deputy Mitchell Rice gathered critical information about the patient to help EMT’s and paramedics with evaluating the situation. Once medical personnel were on scene, advanced life saving medical techniques were initiated and due to the quick response of all responding parties, Officer Dabbs’ was transported to the hospital and her life was saved.

The valiant actions and quick response of these two deputies, along with their partners in 911, HCEMS, and the Dallas Bay Fire Department, brought about a successful outcome for Officer Dabbs and reflects great credit on each of them and their respective agencies.

Sheriff Austin Garrett and the HCSO appreciates the City of Soddy Daisy recognizing all the personnel who responded to this medical event and we are thankful K-9 Officer Dabbs survived this critical life-threatening emergency.
