Hamilton County, TN - On Sunday, July 25, 2021, inmate Charles Arron Butler (age 74), was transported from the Silverdale Corrections Facility to a local hospital after experiencing a medical emergency. Shortly after arriving at the hospital, Butler was pronounced deceased.

A preliminary investigation indicates Butler had experienced a cardiac event.

As this is considered an in-custody death, District Attorney Neal Pinkston has requested the Hamilton County Sheriff's Office Criminal Investigation Division conduct an investigation into the facts and circumstances surrounding inmate Butler's death.

As this is an ongoing investigation, no further information will be released at this time.
