This afternoon at approximately 2:24 p.m. the Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office was called to the 7300 block of Hixson Pike on a traffic crash. The incident involved a Hamilton County School bus and a 2005 Chevrolet Van. The school bus was carrying 50 students from Loftis Middle school and traveling south bound on Hixson Pike. The Chevrolet van pulled out from Thrasher Pike onto Hixson Pike in front of the school bus, causing damage to the right front portion of the bus.

Deputy Eddie Sledge handled the traffic investigation and the driver of the Chevrolet Van was given a traffic citation for Failure to Yield. There were no injuries to any of the children riding the school bus and another bus was called to transport the children home.
