Hamilton County, TN - Approximately one hour ago, the Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office held a press briefing regarding the Officer Involved Shooting that occurred this morning near Lakesite around the 1900 block of Wilkes Avenue.

The information delivered in that press conference is as follows:

District Attorney Neal Pinkston has been advised and has asked the TBI to conduct the formal investigation.

According to preliminary reports, deputies responded to the residence for the report of an unwanted party.

During the course of the call a male subject was shot after a confrontation took place with deputies. The details that led up to the shooting are under investigation by the TBI.

No Sheriff’s personnel were injured in the shooting.

Currently, preliminary results indicate that the subject was transported to a local hospital with what appear to be non-life threatening injuries.

The name of the deputy or the suspect is not being released at this time.

As per policy, the deputy involved in the shooting has been placed on administrative leave.

Furthermore, any additional details and information related to this event will be released from the TBI.

The HCSO will cooperate fully with the TBI as they conduct their investigation.
