HCSO Hosts Joint Press Conference Regarding Recent Warrant Round Up

Hamilton County, TN – Earlier this morning, Hamilton County Sheriff Jim Hammond, surrounded by numerous local, state, and federal law enforcement partners, hosted a joint press conference to discuss the results of Wednesday’s very successful county wide warrant round-up.

On hand for the press conference were personnel from the ATF, the Chattanooga Police Department, and the Soddy Daisy Police Department.

Wednesday’s joint warrant round-up resulted in (131) warrants served and the apprehension of (59) individuals. Of those, (89) were felonies and (42) were misdemeanors. The operation also netted the arrest of (2) validated gang member and (1) sex offender.

The operation also resulted in the arrest of several high profile individuals including Tony Acuff, one of the HCSO’s Top 12 Most Wanted, and Darrien Metcalf. Acuff was wanted for numerous charges including 1st degree murder and aggravated robbery. Metcalf was also wanted for a variety of charges including attempted murder and aggravated assault with the possession of a firearm.

“This joint operation, conducted in our community by the HCSO and our various local, state, and federal law enforcement partners, should serve as a reminder to all those who choose to break the law in Hamilton County,” stated Sheriff Jim Hammond. “We stand here today, united, to send a strong message – There is no place to run, there is no place to hide… we will find you.”
