HCSO Celebrates National Corrections Employee Week
Hamilton County, TN – Sheriff Jim Hammond and the staff of the Hamilton County Sheriff's Office are proud to recognize our dedicated Corrections personnel as we celebrate National Corrections Employee Week beginning Sunday, May 7, 2017.
Nation Corrections Employee Week originally began in 1984 when then-President Ronald Reagan issued Proclamation 5187 entitled the National Correctional Officers Week, in which he called upon officials of state and local governments and the people of the United States to observe this week with appropriate ceremonies and activities to recognize the contributions of our correctional officers and employees. Since then, several agencies have changed the name to National Corrections Employee Week in honor to recognize the efforts and work accomplished by civilian corrections personnel as well.
Beginning Sunday, May 7th, the HCSO Corrections Division will host various activities, lunches, and raffles for Corrections employees as part of the week-long celebration.
On Wednesday, May 3, 2017, Hamilton County Mayor Jim Coppinger officially kicked off National Corrections Employee Week with a proclamation honoring the contributions and service of our Corrections employees.
