This unit is currently made up of 53 citizens from the communities within Hamilton County. These officers under-take weeks of specialized training, thorough background investigations, and other testing to become sworn part-time deputies. These officers provide a great service to the Sheriff’s Office, with countless hours of free labor being provided on different community projects. The special part-time deputies ride on patrol and support full-time officers, and work special functions, such as traffic control and security at the County Fair, Riverbend Festival, Air Show and other events during the year.
