Only the most highly trained and highly disciplined officers qualify for the SWAT Team.
Patrol - Special Weapons and Tactics (S.W.A.T.)
The Patrol Division has a group of specially trained officers and investigators, who are ready to respond to crisis events, such as barricaded gunmen, hostage situations, mentally disturbed individuals threatening harm to themselves and others, and high profile warrant services, where a dangerous and heavily armed subject is wanted. This group of officers have completed SWAT training and train regularly with the Chattanooga Police SWAT Team. They also makeup part of a mutual aid SWAT team within the Hamilton County and Chattanooga area.
