Patrol Services

The Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office Patrol Services division is responsible for policing the unincorporated areas of Hamilton County and the City of Lakesite, under contracted agreement. Officers have 882 miles of county roadways to patrol with additional state and interstate highways within the county. Patrol Services responds to many types of calls for service from traffic accidents, burglaries, thefts, property damage and vandalism to include assisting ambulances on sick calls. The patrol areas are broken into two (2) sectors divided by the Tennessee River. Each sector consists of seven (7) patrol districts which are manned twenty four (24) hours a day seven days a week.

Patrol Services Divisions

Traffic and K9 - Officers who investigate traffic accidents, provide drug searches, and tactical apprehension.

Tennessee Incident Based Reporting System (TIBRS)

Special Weapons And Tactics (SWAT) - Specially trained officers and investigators who respond to crisis events.

Native American Reserve Force (NARF) - Part-time deputies who are Native American.

School Patrol - Officers who provide morning and afternoon traffic control for select schools.

Records - Processes legal documents for Hamilton County Sheriff's Office.

Neighborhood Watch - Citizen-based crime prevention.

Marine Division - Patrolling Hamilton County's waterways.

Motorpool - Provides vehicle service to Hamilton County Sheriff's Office.

Explorers - Partnership between Boy Scouts of America (BSA) and Hamilton County Sheriff's Office.
