Chattanooga & Hamilton County
Chattanooga, Tennessee is nicknamed "The Scenic City" and for good
reason. Nestled in the Tennessee River valley, surrounded by magnificent
mountains, and home to some of the most beautiful natural landmarks
in America, Chattanooga and surrounding Hamilton County is a nature
lover's dream. A stopping point for tourists from all over the globe,
Chattanooga offers a blend of the quaint meticulous detail of a small
town, the thriving downtown business district of a large city, and the
historical significance that can only be found in a major military theatre.
 |
The summer of 2003 saw the dedication of
the Police Memorial, a large granite sculpture that stands as
a tribute to our fallen heroes. |

 |
Among the many parks and greenways around
Hamilton County is Coolidge Park. A very popular destination
for locals and tourists alike. The park is home to a large
hand-carved wooden carousel, rock climbing wall, walk-through
water fountain, and various local restaurants and stores.
One of the most popular reasons for visiting the park is its
proximity to the Walnut Street bridge. The Walnut Street
bridge is the largest pedestrian bridge in the world, spanning
the width of the Tennessee River and connecting Coolidge Park
to downtown. |
| |
 |
Just across the Walnut Street bridge is
the home of the Southern Belle riverboat (pictured here passing
under the Market Street bridge). The Southern Belle is one of
the crown jewels of Chattanooga serving fine cuisine while peacefully
cruising the mighty river. |

 |
Tivoli Theatre is the home of the Chattanooga
Symphony Orchestra and hosts many other wonderful events throughout
the year. |
